How to travel to LEI

If you come with public transport:

  • From 'Den Haag Hollands Spoor' station:

    • Tram 1 to Scheveningen Noorderstrand. Get off at the Javastraat stop.
    • Tram 10 to Statenkwartier (only during peak hours: 7.00 – 9.00 am and 15.30 – 18.30 pm). Get off at the Javastraat stop.

  • From 'Den Haag Central Station':

    • Tram 10 to Statenkwartier (only during peak hours: 7.00 – 9.00 am and 15.30 – 18.30 pm). Get off at the Javastraat stop.
    • Bus 24 to Kijkduin. Get off at the Alexanderplein stop.

Walk into the Javastraat, in the direction of the Peace Palace (Vredespaleis) and take the first road on your right hand side, this is the Alexanderplein.

If you come by car:

From Amsterdam (A44) drive to The Hague (Den Haag) until you reach a T-junction (the Malieveld will be on your left and the provincial government building on your right).

    • Turn right towards Hoek van Holland/Scheveningen.
    • At the 3rd crossing turn left and follow the Centrumring until you arrive at the Laan Copes van Cattenburch.
    • After the traffic lights, the Laan Copes van Cattenburch changes name to the Burgemeester Patijnlaan.
    • After about 200 metres, turn left into Alexanderveld. You will see the LEI building right in front of you at the end of the road.
    • If you wish to park in our car park (under the LEI building), you will find the entrance on the righthand side (underneath the main entrance).

From Utrecht (A12)/Rotterdam and Amsterdam (A4) drive in the direction of Voorburg/Den Haag. After the Prins Clausplein junction take the 'Utrechtsebaan' (the last bit of the A12).

    • At the T-junction at the end of the Utrechtsebaan turn left in the direction of Centrumring/Kijkduin/Ockenburg. (You will then come onto the Zuid-Hollandlaan.)
    • At the end of the Zuid-Hollandlaan (after about 100 metres) turn right in the direction of Hoek van Holland/Scheveningen (Koningskade).
    • At the 3rd crossing turn left and follow the Centrumring until you arrive at the Laan Copes van Cattenburch.
    • After the traffic lights, the Laan Copes van Cattenburch changes name to the Burgemeester Patijnlaan.

Parking

If you wish to make use of the car park, please have a parking place reserved in advance by the person you are coming to see. Otherwise, there is ample (paid) parking in the immediate vicinity of LEI.
